Measuring the dimensions of your fireplace

To create the fireplace you’ve been dreaming about, we need accurate dimensions of your space. Measure your existing fireplace before our call or consultation.

First:

Make sure your fireplace is accessible so you can get accurate measurements.

Second:

Grab a tape measurer and a pen and paper to write down your measurements. Then, follow these simple steps to measure your fireplace:

Height in front – Measure the opening of the fireplace from the bottom to the top

Width in front – Measure the width from interior edges, side to side

Depth – Measure from the front to the back floor in the center of the fireplace

Width in back – Measure the width in the back, side to side

In addition to the dimensions of your fireplace, please follow these other instructions before we chat:

  • Find out your gas type.  Knowing if your gas type is propane or natural gas is essential when placing an order.
  • What’s the condition of your fireplace? Depending on your fireplace’s age and condition, you may need to have it inspected by a chimney professional to ensure it functions properly.
  • Send us photos of your space. Seeing the fireplace helps us find a product that works for you.

Once you’ve gathered the measurements and followed our other tips, we’re ready to help you build the perfect fireplace.
